New March 2025 Updates To FSTP Qualification Conditions
Following February and March 2025, FSTP policy revamped following eight qualification conditions for 2025:
Skilled Trades Industries
Your skill must be in one of the following industries to be qualified under the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
- Construction such as electricians, carpenters, plumbers, and welders
- Transportation such as truck drivers and mechanics
- Manufacturing and industrial trades such as machine operators, tool and die makers
- Natural resources and agriculture, such as forestry and oil and gas trades.
Skilled Trades Work Skill
To be eligible, candidates are required to:
- Have a minimum of 24 months of full-time job skill in a skilled trade within the previous 5 years.
- Execute responsibilities consistent with the National Occupational Classification (NOC) for their trade, which includes key groups 72, 73, 82, 83, 92, or 93, minor group 6320, and Unit Group 62200.
- Satisfy all employment conditions highlighted in the NOC.
- Have been reimbursed for their job.
- Have been eligible to practice in the nation where they operated.
If you worked in more than one nation, you must have been lawfully approved to work in that trade in each country.
Employment Offer Or Certificate Of Qualification
Candidates are required to have one of the following:
- An authentic full-time employment offer for a minimum of 12 months from a Canadian boss.
- A certificate of eligibility provided by a regional, territorial, or national authority in Canada ascertaining that you are eligible in your trade.
